A Tour From the Most Easterly to the Most Westerly Point of Australia

4 Wheel Drive Coach Tour

via The Gunbarrel Road

Construction of the Gunbarrel Road began in 1955 when a team of hard working pioneers, lead by legendary Len Beadell, pushed a track through the Gibson Desert for the Woomera Weapons testing centre. Len called his party the 'Gunbarrel Crew' names so because Len tried to keep as much as possible his new road as straight as a gun barrell.

At Stonestreet's Coaches we invite you to join us on one of these great adventure tours across the continent, travelling from the most easterly to the most westerly points (or vice versa) via the Gunbarrel Highway.

Unlike the Gunbarrel Crew, we will be travelling in relative luxury aboard our air conditioned, luxury four-wheel-drive coach. Sit back and relax in your reclining seats with full lap sash seat belts enjoying all the sights through huge windows and an onboard road camera - so we miss nothing happening out the front.

Each tour will visit:

  • Cape Byron
  • Steep Point
  • Chambers Pillar
  • Dalhousie Hot Springs
  • Uluru and Kata Tjuta
  • Alice Springs
  • Strzelecki Track
  • Marree
  • Gunbarrel Highway
  • and heaps more.........
