Australian Seabird Rescue Centre

Across the Sea to Macleay Island

Today we head to Redland Bay where we’ll enjoy morning tea before boarding the Bay Island Water Taxi for our trip across Moreton Bay to discover Russell, Macleay, Lamb and Karragarra- four small islands in the sheltered waters of the bay. On arrival at Macleay Island we’ll be met by the “Island Bus” and taken on an island tour, before making our way back to the Blue Parrot Cafe for lunch. Evergreen Taoist Temple

Today we board our coach travelling towards Nudgee stopping to enjoy morning tea before arriving at the Evergreen Taoist Temple at Deagon on the outskirts of Brisbane and not far from Nudgee Beach. This Temple was completed in 1991 and its sprawling complex is full of colours, statues and ornate trimmings and is the largest Taoist Temple in the Southern Hemisphere. Here we will be taken on a tour by Sister Linda of their three main worship halls – The Guardian Angles Hall, Three Masters Hall and Three (indistinct) Hall. Sister Linda will give us an insight into the beliefs of the Taoist Followers and we will also have time to browse through their gift shop.

Valley Rattler
